Locally Grown & Made with Love!
Our story
Lori raises her goats for their rich milk which she then uses to make soaps, lotions, balms, sugar scrubs, and bath bombs. These goat milk personal care products are naturally emollient, and the soaps come in a wide variety of colors and fragrances. Each product is specially created and packaged. They make wonderful gifts and stocking stuffers. There is even goat milk shampoo for your hair.
All these hand-made, specialty products are sold at the store located right on the farm. Painted Pastures goat milk products are also available at The Market Hub, Old Home Stead, McCutcheon Apple Products, Scenic View Orchard, and Deliteful Dairy. Inside the beautifully decorated farm store you will also find a variety of other items made by local artisans. The farm store hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10 am to 5 pm.
There is a lot of beauty on this quaint farm property. Along with the goat milk products, Lori also raises and sells fresh cut flowers. They are grown in a hoop greenhouse just down the hill from the goat barn. In the summer months when the store is not quite as busy, she runs a roadside flower stand at the end of the driveway. Gorgeous bouquets of fresh flowers are available for purchase starting at fifteen dollars each. She says that she employs the "honor system" at the flower stand and that it works out quite well.
There are more ways to enjoy all that Painted Pastures has to offer, including Farm to Table dinners where guests enjoy an all locally sourced meal served under the trees on the farm. These events are a new and fun way to experience the farm while enjoying a delicious meal accompanied by wine and beer pairings and live musical entertainment. In addition to dinners, Lori plans to host a Farm to Table breakfast in the coming year, featuring farm fresh bacon, eggs, and ham. Another new and exciting event planned for 2023 is a Paint Night, which will take place in the summer. At all of these events, guests are welcome to hang out with the animals while they enjoy the peace and tranquility of their surroundings. One annual event that Lori especially loves is her own Octoberfest, which she calls her Customer Appreciation Day. On this day, she has a food truck on the property, guests are treated to live music and a special chance to play with some KuneKune piglets.
Everything that is happening at the farm is shared on their Facebook page, along with announcements of upcoming special events and news about new arrivals in the goat barn. Follow along to see photos and videos of baby goats, and of "Ronnie" the rooster, and "Annie" as they work alongside Lori each day. In addition to the goings on at the farm, Lori's posts occasionally include a little bit of much needed uplifting and inspiration like this to brighten your day;
"You've got someone standing beside you that's stronger than the one standing against you." Joshua 1:5
When thinking of fresh cut flowers for yourself or for someone special in your life, think of buying locally grown. Here in Washington county there are many flower farms available to serve you.
